Isaiah 7 :
14. "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign:
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son,
and shall call His name Immanuel.
NKJV

Hundreds of years before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the prophet Isaiah let the people of Israel know that one major sign God would show in the world would be when a virgin would conceive and bring to birth a Son who would be named Immanuel.

Now, under normal circumstances a virgin cannot become pregnant!
Some ask the question, did God have sex with Mary?

What the Bible says is that a supernatural conception took place which was miraculous. That sounds like the way God likes to do things: in a manner unheard of and impossible before and since.

Isaiah said that His name would be Immanuel. This lets us know the origin of Jesus very clearly because Immanuel means, God is with us. In Jesus Christ, God is with us.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for sending Your own sign into the world through the miracle of the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.
Lord Jesus, come and be Immanuel to me, so that I know who God is as a living reality in my life today,
Amen.
